Philosophy

Here at Rise Academy we provide opportunity. And the most important opportunity that we offer is the opportunity to fail. In order to improve ones basketball skills we believe that players need to have the chance to apply what they learn in practice to game situations. This is why we have a strong tradition of teaching footwork and the fundamentals of the game. Our players practice more than any other prep program in the country. Although we do have a schedule with over 60 games, we believe that the art of practicing and focusing on individual development is what seperates us from other programs.

With a strong history that includes 16 NBA players, 50 over-seas pros, and over 250 division one collegiate athletes, we believe we know what it takes to get to the next level. We have former college coaches on our staff, and know what it takes and what college coaches expect at the next level. But from our resume alone what we take the most pride in is that our players excel at what ever level of basketball they play at.

Exposure

The reason that we give our players a chance to fail is due to our strong schedule. We have a schedule against some of the best prep school, community college, and high school teams in the country. Our schedule includes over 60 games. We believe when not on a stage in front of coaches our players need to look to improve their game. This means players will be asked to try things that we believe they will be asked of at the next level.

However, at this level of basketball it is all about getting kids into college. When our kids are on stage in front of coaches or some of the better teams on our schedule we want them to perform their best. And we aim to give them as many opportunities in front of coaches as possible. We are the most traveled prep school, and we travel all over the country to get our kids to play in front of coaches. We are friends with many coaches and have long lasting relationships, therefore, many coaches will fly in to watch a paticular player practice of perform. We create the stage for our players to succeed.

NCAA Knowledge

While talent is improtant, it will only take a player so far. The NCAA ultimately makes the rules when it comes to playing collegiate sports. We stay up to date on all the rules and guidelines that affect collegiate basketball players. By knowing the NCAA rules we are able to put our players in the best possible situation for their future education and basketball career. Bad advice could cost a player a year or more of eligability. At Rise Academy we understand the cost of education and what a year of basketball means not only to the player, but the parent of the player. We want our players to exceed and have the best careers possible.
