What is prep school?

Prep school is an educational option to prepare you academically and athletically for college. The difference between prep school and regular schooling is that prep schools often focus heavily on one or several different sports.

01

Why would a player ever consider prep school?

Most players who consider prep school are looking for more assistance either academically or athletically. Academic needs include SAT and ACT prep, one course post graduation, or for individual attention to complete high school requirements.  Note that many players that attend prep school have already qualified with the NCAA and therefore do not need the academic assistance. These players attend prep school to focus more on the sport they wish to get better at; this usually includes maturing both physically and mentally, and increasing a player's skill level. The goal of most players who attend prep school is to receive a scholarship or some other form of financial assistance.

What separates Rise from other prep schools?

What seperates Rise from other prep schools is that Rise caters to a player's individual needs. Our programs and training is aimed to help the individual. Unfortunately many prep schools are either lacking the staff, the schedule, or a prime location. Here at Rise we have all three. We pride ourselves on taking players to the next level and our resume reflects our success.

What is this negative feedback on Rise Academy?

While almost all of the feedback we receive is positive, the small amount of negative feedback we received has gone viral. The people behind the negative feedback went out of their way to blemish our reputation, but the program has been responsive. Most of the negative feedback we received was a result of someone not fully understanding our situation. Here at Rise academy we outsource all of our academics. We are not responsible for the schooling and/or their billing (This includes I20s for international students). We are responsible and liable for the basketball, travel, and housing of the program, not the school. Our financial agreements are only honored as long as the finances are met; this means that a player is able to drop out the program at anytime. Besides the deposit, which is nonrefundable, all payments are made month-to-month and as long as those needs are met we will provide our services.

The negative feedback we are responsible for we have been able to respond to rather quickly. There has been some negative feedback about our housing and since we have upgraded the housing and placed a coach in the house to keep order and provide supervision. Also note that the housing option is not mandatory. Finally, the biggest complaint we received and responded to was about a certain coach and his character. We responded to these complaints by parting ways with the coach and hiring two former D1 college coaches to replace his presence. Fortunately, all the complaints we have received have been about non-basketball related topics and our reputation of making players better has not been touched.

What does this program guarantee?

Although many people believe that coming to prep school will guarantee them a D1 scholarship, this is not the case. We cannot guarantee any scholarships, but we will guarantee that we will try our best to make every player in our program better. We guarantee the exposure, the competition, and playing time.
